Golf Walk

Coach Brett Williams said the team is, “More than capable,” of winning the state title.

“If they play up to their potential they have a chance to win it all… I’m excited… It should have been our third time there. Last year we got robbed from Covid. It’s unprecedented.”

Senior Blake Wynn said, "I like how our team is all-around good. We can all switch around and score really good... I think we have a really good chance going into it."

The team has been making and breaking records, “Boys golf had never been to state, we did that in 2018 - we would have done it in 2020. We’re doing it in 2021. Won regionals, won sectionals, never done that before in the boys program,” said Williams.

“Top 3 at state would be another record, if we beat 7th place, that’s another record. I’m elated as a coach… super proud.”
According to the Sherrard Tigers Boys Golf facebook page they will head to Bloomingtonm, Praire Vista Golf Course tomorrow (Oct. 7) with a send-off at 6:15 a.m. from the HS parking lot. They will head down NN - 67 to Viola. Viola fire will escort them to the grain bins, New Windsor is hoping to pick up and escort to 74.

“Any support is greatly appreciated; sitting in your car along the route; posters; honking; a quick thumbs up . I can't say enough great things about these 6 young men that will be representing SHS Golf at the highest level in IHSA!” - Coach Williams
