• General Information

    Winola Elementary is one of two buildings in the Sherrard Community Unit School district that houses grades K - 4. Currently, the school has an enrollment of 240 students 2-3 sections of each grade level. Regular education classrooms are self-contained with an average of 19-25 students per classroom. Students are provided with a curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, and social sciences. Physical Education, art and music classes are offered throughout the week.  Winola Elementary has special education services available for all students who qualify. Students in the regular education program are provided with small group support from our Title I  Reading teachers. One on one reading is used with students that have been identified as needing extra help.

    The district preschool program began classes at the Winola Elementary building in August, 2012.  There are 2 preschool classrooms that each have a morning and an afternoon session.
