ALGEBRA IA
Algebra IA is designed to emphasize the study of variables, inequalities, equalities, equations and their solutions, axioms and theorems, graphing, polynomials, factors, and other topics at a less rigorous pace.
ALGEBRA I
Algebra I includes the study of variables, inequalities, equalities, equations and their solutions, axioms and theorems, graphing, polynomials, factors, and other topics.GEOMETRY A
Geometry A is designed to emphasize the study of the properties and applications of common geometric figures in two and three dimensions. Inductive and deductive thinking skills are used in problem solving situations, and applications to the real world are stressed at a less rigor of a pace. All students will be required to take 1 credit of Geometry to fulfill the State of Illinois math requirement.GEOMETRY
Geometry is the study of visual patterns and relationships to other mathematics. It also helps develop logical reasoning and other learning skills useful throughout life. This class includes topics such as area, volume, transformations, reasoning, patterns, and more. It also emphasizes writing proofs to solve (prove) properties of geometric figures. A scientific calculator is necessary for area and volume calculations.ALGEBRA II
During the first semester, such topics as: linear equations and inequalities, factoring polynomials, rational expressions, radicals and rational number exponents, the quadratic formula, and complex numbers will be covered. The second semester will consist of topics such as: functions, conic sections, binomial expansions, and trigonometric functions.CONSUMER MATH
This course is an application of mathematics to life skills. Areas covered include a brief review of arithmetic skills; income, banking, and credit; transportation; housing; taxes, insurance, and investments; and purchasing and budgeting. This will fulfill one credit of the State of Illinois math requirement.
