DARE Graduation, December 6, 2018
DARE is a police officer led series of classroom lessons that teach children how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence free lives. Fifth grade tudents at Matherville Intermediate school, have completed 10 weeks of 1 hour weekly lessons with Officer Terrill from the Mercer County Sherriff's Department. Upon completion, an essay contest and a poster contest are held in each homeroom. Students get to enjoy a pizza party at school on the day of graduation. All students receive a certificate at graduation and the contest winners receive either a medal or a stuffed animal.
