At the beginning of the year (2022), instead of committing to a resolution, Mrs. Fishman's 4th graders decided to focus on a single word.
They pondered, 'What is one word we want to bring into our life this new year? What word could we work on? What area could we grow? What do we want more of?'
Some of their responses... Eliza chose "Brave, I want to be more brave in the things I do." Breanna chose "Calm, I like being calm and when I am calm I focus better." Jadyn's word is, "Love, I want to love everybody in my life."
"Our goal is to bring this goal to life for the next 12 months," said Fishman.
An example to her students - she shared her word of the year...."Growth. I want to grow as an educator and as a person. I want to step out of my comfort zone and try new things."
