Rhys Fullerlove

Rhys Fullerlove resides in Milan, IL with his wife and two children. Rhys is employed at the U.S. Army Sustainment Command on Rock Island Arsenal, where he is the Chief of the Office of Communication and Engagement, a position he has held since 2021. In this capacity, he oversees Public and Congressional Affairs, Business Relations, History, and Business Relations for an Army command with over 30,000 soldiers, civilians, and contractors spread across 32 states and 30 countries worldwide and an operating budget of over 3 billion dollars.
Rhys graduated from Sherrard in 2000 where he was active in band, theater and cross country. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Marketing from St. Ambrose University and a Master’s of Science in Communication degree from Purdue University.
He is also an active member of the Western Illinois University Planning and Advisory Committee, which offers guidance to Western Illinois University-Quad Cities in achieving fundraising goals that align with institutional priorities. In 2018, he was appointed by then Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner as one of two board of education members on the Illinois State Board of Education Professional Review Panel. In this role, he collaborated with practitioners, experts, legislative leaders, and advocates to review the state's historic funding reform implementation mandated by Public Act 100-0465. The panel recommended ongoing recalibration and other modifications to the Evidence-Based Funding model to better serve the needs of all students in Illinois.
As a Sherrard alumni, he understands how a solid educational foundation earned at Sherrard can give students a leg up in the world. He feels it is the school board member's responsibility to seek opinions from their constituents, as it is a publicly held office that comes with a sacred trust and responsibility. That means listening to parents, teachers, students, support staff, admins and other stakeholders to ensure that all the facts are understood before making a key decision.

Kim DeBlock

Ms. DeBlock is one of the founders of Nourish to Flourish, a non-profit organization that helps to provide food to area children. She has served on the Mercer County Hospital Governing Board and volunteers for the Mercer Health Foundation. She has a Bachelor's in Agriculture from the University of Illinois.
During the interview process, Ms. DeBlock noted that being a member of the board is a privilege and a responsibility to the staff, students & families of the Sherrard District. She hopes to bring a sense of cohesiveness and positive energy to the Board focusing on what is best for the future of our students.Ms. DeBlock has completed the following training:

Sue Lyon

Susan Lyon currently resides in Milan, Illinois with her husband, Matt, and daughter, Navi. Susan is a teacher at Ridgewood Elementary School in Rock Island, IL. She has a Bachelors Degree in Education from Western Illinois University and a Master’s in Reading from WIU. She believes in giving our students the best education they can get.
She will do her best to focus on ways to achieve goals without over spending our hard-earned tax money. Sue believes that it takes a town to build a child and all children can learn with the help and input from everyone; teachers, parents, administration, staff, and the community. Stay positive, stay focused, and keep moving forward.Mrs. Lyon has completed the following training:

Dan Helm

Board member Dan Helm is very familiar with Sherrard School District. His children are all graduates of Sherrard High School This is the second time Mr. Helm has served as a Board member. He works in the water treatment industry and lives in Sherrard. Regarding the legacy he would like to leave behind, Mr. Helm stated that years from now, he would like to see the district thriving and be able to think he had some part in it.

John Cabor

Mr. Cabor lives north of Preemption and is the Facilities Director for Jumer's Casino in Rock Island. He has 22 years of experience in various aspects of facility management. Mr. Cabor's eldest daughter is a graduate of Sherrard High School and his youngest daughter is a senior. He has served as a member of his community's well association. His wife, Michelle, is a cook at the high school.

Cassandra Cleaveland

KayCee Cleaveland lives in downtown Cable with her son Augustus and daughter Julieanna. Both Augustus and Julieanna attend Sherrard Elementary School. KayCee is a special education teacher at Moline High School in Moline, IL.
She has an Associate's Degree in Applied Science with an emphasis in Construction Technology, a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, an endorsement in teaching English Language Learners and her Master’s Degree in Special Education. She has served as a chapter president for the local Little People of America district, is the owner of Harry Bee’s Honey and has been a volunteer coach for several softball, t-ball and soccer teams. She believes that by making student-centered decisions and ensuring teachers have the support and resources they need to implement them, the sky's the limit to where our students will go.

Aaron Dominique

Aaron Dominique resides in Milan with his wife Angie and three daughters. Avery is a 2019 Graduate of Sherrard High School, Aubren is a 2023 Graduate of Sherrard High School and Aliza is currently enrolled and scheduled to graduate in 2026. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Knox College.
He currently works in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Additionally, he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois Air National Guard. He has been a member of the 182d Airlift Wing in Peoria, IL since 1997, where he currently serves as the Director of Equal Opportunity. Aaron believes that the role of the education system is to teach our children how to think and not what to think.
